The Franchise Tag
Design Identity, Production & Editing for The Franchise Tag, a UK-Based NFL podcast.
This was a very interesting opportunity for me, not only to design an identity from scratch, but to also have a large responsibility in the overall production and marketing of a new podcast. As well as designing the Logo, Merchandising and Website, I recorded and edited the podcast itself and went through the process of having it distributed through major outlets such as Apple and Spotify.
I approached this project with three clear goals.
To be very recognisable among other podcasts.
To be able to continue the identity consistently across various platforms.
To provide a sense of professionalism through high quality visuals.
I chose a strong yellow to be a standout quality within all facets of the brand, with blacks breaking up the colour with text, patterns and through duo-tone photographs. These Line Patterns come with harsh corners that provide direction and present the effect of motion and action on social media images to present more attention catching imagery on follower’s feeds.
Motion graphics such as rotoscope animations take the best moments from the sport the audience loves so dearly and shows them off in a stylised way, whilst remaining on brand and shareable.
